An interactive installation of eleven wooden blocks, each printed with one word. Think of now, what, why, and then. The blocks come in different sizes and can be freely moved, stacked or simply observed. No rules, no prescribed actions.
The work grows from my thesis research into the 'why' question. Just as why-questions invite us to think about the world, ourselves and the way our blank page gradually becomes a written one, the blocks offer space to explore your own intuition, perception and interpretation. The words are deliberately accessible, neutral and universal — leaving room for personal meaning.
Responses differ per person. Upbringing, experience and perception determine what a word evokes. By combining blocks, building with them, or pausing with a single word, a playful, intuitive experience emerges in which everyone interprets the space in their own way — alone or together. A reflection of how our thinking works. Not fixed, but constantly in motion.
